Day 4: Your story has a purpose
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”
Romans 8:28
Everyone has a story God is still writing.
And sometimes we find ourselves in a chapter we never would have chosen,
wondering how it could possibly fit into His plan.
There is a Senior that did not get into the school that she hoped for.
There is the woman whose heart is breaking as she faces a divorce she never imagined and
learning how to be strong when she feels anything but.
There is the woman longing for a child
praying month after month, watching hope rise and fall,
wondering why the answer hasn’t come yet.
There is the woman who has known pregnancy loss
who has said hello and goodbye far too close together.
The woman whose body bears the scars of ectopic pregnancies and now is faced with infertility.
Learning how to grieve not only the babies she lost, but the future she thought she would have.
There is the woman fighting cancer
walking through treatments, uncertainty, and fear,
learning to trust God in ways she never wanted to learn.
There is the mother overwhelmed by a diagnosis she never expected,
loving her child deeply while navigating appointments,
therapies, and questions without easy answers.
There is the woman who is simply tired
because life feels heavy, because the needs never stop,
because pouring herself out has left her feeling empty.
There is the woman with a dream
a prayer whispered late at night that still hasn’t happened.
The promise she believed God placed on her heart… still waiting.
And then there is the older woman. The one who has chapters she doesn't talk about often. The one who has buried dreams, and maybe even people that she loved deeply. The one who has walked through doors she never would have chosen and somehow found God faithful in them anyway. She knows something the younger ones are still learning:
God sees every part of your story.
Not one tear is wasted.
Not one prayer is ignored.
Not one chapter is without purpose.
Even when the story feels broken, delayed, or unfinished
God is still writing.
Still redeeming.
Still working good from what hurts.
And one day, you will see how even this became part of a beautiful testimony and story.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Help us trust You with every part of our story
even the chapters we don’t understand.
Remind us that no tear is wasted, no prayer is unheard,
and that You are still working good from what hurts.
We place our stories in Your hands and choose to trust You as You continue to write our story.
In Jesus name, Amen.
