DEVOTIONAL DAY 14:
when you feel not good enough
“You are fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:14
Have you ever felt like you just don’t measure up?
Not talented enough.
Not patient enough.
Not successful enough.
Not doing enough.
Sometimes it’s not even what people say out loud
it’s what you feel they’re thinking.
You compare yourself to someone further ahead.
Someone more confident.
Someone who seems to do it all effortlessly.
And slowly, that quiet whisper creeps in:
You’re not enough.
But that voice does not come from God.
God does not create masterpieces and then call them inadequate.
The One who formed you carefully, intentionally, uniquely
does not look at you with disappointment.
He does not compare you to someone else’s calling.
He does not measure your worth by productivity or perfection.
The world will always set new standards.
Do more. Be more. Achieve more.
But heaven already settled your value at the cross.
You were worth dying for
before you proved anything.
Before you succeeded.
Before you failed.
Before anyone formed an opinion about you.
Your worth is not determined by someone else’s expectations.
It is anchored in who God says you are.
Chosen.
Loved.
Equipped.
Enough.
So when the lies rise up again,
answer them with truth.
You don’t have to earn your value.
You don’t have to compete for it.
You already belong.
Prayer
Lord,
Sometimes I let other people’s opinions shape how I see myself.
I compare, I question, and I doubt the gifts you’ve placed in me.
Forgive me for believing the lie that I am not enough.
Help me to see myself the way you see me
fearfully and wonderfully made,
chosen and deeply loved.
Quiet the voices of comparison and insecurity.
Anchor my identity in you, not in approval or performance.
Remind me today that my worth was settled long ago.
I am Yours.
And that is enough.
Amen.
